This image was taken on a night dive at Kalig, during a liveaboard trip on MSY Seahorse. This decorator crab climbed onto the edge of a sea fan for just long enough to snap a few photos. To me, he looked like a decorated king posing on a sea-fan throne.
Mike Clifford is a patent attorney who resides in Chicago, but spends as much time as possible taking photos underwater (especially when it allows him to escape Chicago’s bitter cold winters). Mike considers himself an amateur photographer, but hopes to one day transition to a life where he can be underwater with a camera every day.
