On August 3rd,  Child Aid Papua Foundation’s Education Center, in Sawinggrai village, officially opened with a traditional blessing ceremony by the community’s elders, education figures, government officials, religious leaders, community figures, parents and students.  The Center offers the opportunity for everyone to collaborate and do something together for Papua’s future generation!

“A place to learn, to understand, to know new things, to be smart”.  This lyric is from our “Learning Center in Paradise” song that is filled with hope that the education center will be a place for the children and adolescents to not “just” learn but also understand the knowledge that they’ve learned and also understand the purpose of the learning itself – that they are the only one who will get the advantages of it.

Child Aid Papua firmly believes that every child has a right to education. They also see this as the key to sustainable environmental protection. That’s why in all projects they work mainly with children and adolescents of West Papua. These projects are aimed at achieving a better future for both humans and the environment.

Classes have now begun with classes being taught in 9 villages, reaching over 600 students.
