ReSharker Newsletter Issue 8

ReSharker Issue 8 is now available to the public.  The ReSharker is the newsletter and impact report of ReShark, an innovative, international collective of aquariums, NGOs, governments, academics, and local communities dedicated to scalable shark and ray re-wilding. They link ex situ and in situ shark and ray conservation efforts through breeding and conservation translocations.

ReShark’s first project is the Stegostoma tigrinum Augmentation and Recovery Project (StAR Project), which is a global effort to restore populations of the endangered Ind0-Pacific leopard shark (Stegostoma tigrinum) in regions where the species has disappeared or dramatically declined due to overfishing and habitat degradation.

Note: The StAR Project’s first two release locations are in Raja Ampat, West Papua, Indonesia and Phuket, Thailand.
